As a result, the U8 will do 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds and can spin all four wheels to do proper tank turns. Should be rather useful on the school run. There’s something called the ‘DiSus-P Intelligent Hydraulic Body Control System’ too which, in a similar manner to the U9 supercar, allows you to drive on three wheels in the event of a tyre blowout.<br/><br/>Oh, and just in case you were worried about range, there’s also a 2.0-litre turbo engine on board to act as a range extender, so with a full tank of petrol and juiced up batteries you’ll manage 621 miles without a stop.<br/><br/>Remarkably, we’re told that deliveries will start in China in October this year. For those not paying attention, that’s currently five days away. How on earth?<br/><br/>Anyway, those first deliveries will be of the U8 Premium Edition, which is set to cost over £123,000 in Yangwang’s home market. Looks like that’ll get all of the headline tech as standard though, including a rather remarkable ‘emergency flotation’ function that ensures the U8 can float on water for up to 30 minutes. Yep, this giant range-extender SUV can literally become a boat.<br/><br/>Designed to keep you safe in flash floods or to allow you to cross rivers on off-road adventures, the system apparently kills the engine, closes the windows and opens the sunroof before propelling you along at 1.8mph by spinning its wheels. Bonkers.<br/><br/>Back in the normal electric SUV world, the U8 will fast charge at up to 110kW to allow for a 30 to 80 per cent top-up in 18 minutes. Or if you’re feeling lazy and can’t be bothered to faff around with cables, there are three wireless charging pads underneath that allow for 50kW charging. It also uses vehicle-to-load capabilities to dispense charge to other devices at 6kW.<br/><br/>The interior is crammed full of Nappa leather, sapele wood, speakers and many, many screens. Seriously, just check out how many displays are in there. The dash alone features a 12.8-inch OLED central screen and two 23.6-inch displays either side.

With its sharp, angular lines, this EV aims to impress young buyers.<br/><br/>Produced as part of Honda's joint venture with Dongfeng, the Lingxi L looks very similar to the concept car it previewed, albeit with a significant lightening in design. Expressive design lines and intricate lighting elements contribute to making this otherwise ordinary compact sedan a little more fascinating; just like Hyundai does with some of its new models.<br/><br/>With a wheelbase of 2,731 mm (107.5 in), the Lingxi L has almost the same dimensions as the Honda Civic, with only 4 mm (0.1 in) difference in wheelbase length. Unlike the Civic, the L model features a lithium iron phosphate battery pack, which contributes to a curb weight of up to 1,702 kg (3,752 lbs).<br/><br/>While details about battery pack size and range have not been disclosed, it has been confirmed that the vehicle will be equipped with a single electric motor capable of delivering up to 215 hp (160 kW/218 PS) to the wheels.<br/><br/>Additionally, documents submitted to MIIT show that the model will be equipped with radar. This suggests that the L will feature some advanced technologies, including advanced driver assistance features.<br/><br/>When the first Sino-foreign joint venture introduced the Lingxi brand, Honda and Dongfeng said that the vehicles they produced would target a different audience than the e:NS EV series and therefore have different prices. James Bond probably wouldn't toast the new model with one of his shaken-not-stirred signature martinis given his history of battling the international crime organization known as Spectre. But he might want to drive the regal new coupe nonetheless. The Spectre rides on the same platform as the Phantom sedan and Cullinan SUV but is propelled by a fully electric powertrain consisting of two electric motors that pump out a combined 577 horsepower. The driving range is estimated to be as high as 291 miles per charge, which does not place the Spectre among the long-range EV cohort with less-expensive rivals such as the Tesla Model S and the Lucid Motors Air. But buyers with the $450,000 or so available to buy a Spectre aren't likely to road trip when their private jet is always standing ready at a nearby airfield. The Spectre is Rolls-Royce's first in a series of EVs, and the company says that its gasoline-powered models will be phased out of the lineup and replaced entirely with EVs by 2030. <br/><br/>What's New for 2024?<br/>The Spectre is a new addition to the Rolls-Royce lineup and its first customers can expect to take delivery by the end of 2023.<br/><br/>Pricing and Which One to Buy<br/>The price of the 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre starts at $422.750.<br/>Spectre: $422,750<br/><br/>Rolls-Royce will let you customize a Spectre pretty much any way you want. And that's a good thing, because, with a price tag this high, we expect buyers will want something truly personalized.<br/><br/>EV Motor, Power, and Performance<br/>All Spectres will come with a dual-motor electric powertrain with 577 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. After taking the Spectre on a test drive, we estimate that the electric powertrain will move the 6559-pound coupe to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. You may scoff at that estimate and point to the Tesla Model S Plaid that hit 60 mph in 2.1 seconds in our testing, but we'd be quick to remind you that Rolls-Royce's brand ethos is more about quiet cruising than mind-bending performance. Although sharp impacts will still make themselves known, Rolls-Royce has installed adaptive suspension to ensure an appropriately isolated ride over all but the biggest bumps, and the engineers also made room for a massive amount of sound-deadening material to maintain a whisper-quiet cabin. Essentially the sister model of the Cupra Born VZ, the sporty EV comes in two different versions. There's a base GTX and a spicy GTX Performance with the most powerful electric motor ever developed by VW.<br/><br/>Opt for the regular ID.3 GTX and you get an electric motor at the rear axle with 282 horsepower and 402 pound-feet of torque. When you upgrade to the performance model, VW will increase power input to 322 hp while torque remains the same. Predictably, these high output figures match those of the Cupra Born VZ perfectly.<br/><br/>It takes the rear-wheel-drive hot hatch six seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 62 mph for the regular GTX, or 5.6 seconds if you upgrade to the GTX Performance. Top speed is electronically limited to 181 mph and 124 mph respectively.<br/><br/>Both GTXs share a lithium-ion battery pack with a usable energy capacity of 79 kilowatt-hours. It supports DC charging at 175 kilowatts, in which case the battery will be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in about 26 minutes. With a fully charged battery, ID.3 GTX models are estimated to cover 373 miles on a combined WLTP cycle. The battery is floor-mounted in the middle of the vehicle for better weight distribution.<br/><br/>As with the ID.4 GTX and ID.5 GTX, VW has made the ID.3 GTX look more exciting, with a redesigned front bumper with a larger air intake and a diamond-shaped pattern surrounded by boomerang LEDs that act as daytime running lights. At the rear of the performance model, there is a diffuser with a gloss black finish to match the dark mirror caps, side sills and window frame. Additionally, there are new 20-inch wheels with 215-section tires on the GTX and wider 235-section rubber on the GTX Performance.<br/><br/>There are plenty of red accents in the interior. There are sporty, electrically adjustable front seats with integrated headrests, GTX badging and fabrics made from recycled materials. All ID.3s will feature a new 12.9-inch infotainment system and a separate drive mode selector lever on the steering column. Better late than never, just like on the recently launched Golf Mk8.5, the touch sliders for volume and AC are finally lighting up .<br/><br/>Looking ahead, VW has already suggested that the ninth-generation, electric-only Golf will replace the ID.3 as there is no room for both in the range. In such a case, GTX will become GTI, as the German brand plans to keep the three vowels. It has even already trademarked a new logo in which the letter \")
